Des Haines - Director

Des started at SBM in 1989 as very much as a junior and has steadily progressed through the
company to become a joint director in 2002. These years have given Des the knowledge to be totally
conversant with all aspects of the workings of SBM. He manages and co-ordinates the day to day
running of the company. As well as selling, he continues to have a hands-on approach to the
workshop.
Shane Wilson - Director

Shane joined SBM as a joint Director with Des in December 2021. He previously founded
BayCopy in Tauranga, successfully managing its branches across the North Island for over a
decade. This experience has given him a deep understanding of the day-to-day operations of
a successful photocopier business. Shane maintains constant contact with the staff at SBM
and enjoys frequent visits to catch up with Des, the team, and clients
Karen Chapman – Accounts Manager

Karen relocated from Tauranga in late 2021 to be closer to her family and friends. Before
moving, she worked for Shane. Since 2013, Karen has been a sales representative and
accounts manager in the copier industry. She has a strong customer service focus and excels
at matching office requirements with the appropriate equipment.
Eileen Halligan – Administration Manager

Eileen started with SBM in 2007 and manages the company’s accounting. She brought with
her extensive knowledge from working with both large and small companies. Every day, she
leverages her accounting background to ensure the business runs smoothly. Eileen's kind
nature and calm demeanour enable her to handle any situation efficiently and effectively.
Grant McNeil – Senior Technician

Grant is SBM’s Senior Technician, having started in 2006. He heads up the busy Service and IT
Departments. With over 30 years of experience in servicing, both in Europe and New
Zealand, Grant has worked with a wide range of well-known office equipment brands. For
many years, he has specialized in Canon equipment within New Zealand companies,
adapting to the rapid advancements in printer technology and software.
Cindy Grobler – Senior Technician

Cindy has specialist knowledge in servicing photocopiers, a field she has been working in
since 1989. She moved to New Zealand from South Africa in 2006 and worked for various
companies until she joined SBM in late 2021.
Luke - I.T Technician

Luke began his working career with ten years in furniture making, during which he became
fully qualified. He then transitioned to his brother’s IT company, where he received training
in computer and network support. Through this progression, Luke has developed into a
highly skilled and creative IT technician. In his free time, he enjoys playing Netrunner,
gardening, growing carnivorous plants, and trying to keep the weeds under control.
Hayden Keeley – Communication Technician

Hayden was born in England and moved to South Africa at the age of 15. He worked in
telecommunications in South Africa for 33 years before relocating to Christchurch in 2011.
Upon arriving in New Zealand, Hayden started working at Extel Communications. He has
extensive knowledge of various business telephone systems and network services
Chippie Sheppard – Communication Technician

Chippie began his career in the military, serving in Air Sea Rescue in South Africa for a couple
of years. He then worked as a shipwright (boat builder), earning the nickname Chippie.
Following this, he worked at the Post Office in customer service, as a telecom technician, and
in the programming center for PBX systems. In 2004, Chippie moved to New Zealand and
joined Extel Communications, where he has continued to expand his extensive knowledge of
phone systems and network options.
